Gary Jelaso - Founder/CEO

Gary Jelaso is an entrepreneur and green energy consultant. He is presently President of Pinnacle LED Lighting Solutions, a consulting firm that offers business owners and managers green technology solutions to reduce energy usage and their carbon footprint. In addition to his green energy background, Mr. Jelaso has over 30 years experience as an award winning television producer, director and director of photography. He has created films, videos, commercials and broadcast productions. He was creator and executive producer of American Business Journal; a weekly syndicated magazine show with a focus on business. His responsibilities included: show content, syndication, hiring, sponsor relations, budgeting, meeting weekly deadlines and overseeing all other aspects of production and delivery. He directed Martha Stewart Living where he was nominated for an Emmy in the Best Director category. In addition to working on 4 Olympics and at least 150 “up-close and personals”, Mr. Jelaso has worked on Barbara Walters Specials, 20/20, Primetime Live, Election Coverage, ABC News Specials, and many prestigious events. His work on the documentary “One in Nine, the Story of Breast Cancer in America” has earned him a George Foster Peabody Award. In 1996 he created Insiders Travel Network in partnership with Travelers Bank and Visa International. Some of the on-line travel services software his company developed are still being used by on-line giants Expedia and Travelocity.

Rod Monti - COO

Mr. Monti has over 25 years of professional experience and has managed the vital operations of several industry-leading Network Services and Media Communications firms. He is currently Managing Operations for Ernst & Young's Global IT division and manages a 60 Million dollar budget and over 700 resources. He joined E&Y after launching an extremely successful and profitable Search Engine Optimization practice for a leading European Travel and Lifestyle website, later acquired by Travelocity.

Prior to relocating to London to work for, he was the VP of Operations for the tech consulting firm BurningTree Technologies and was responsible for their initial launch of the New York City branch office. His responsibities included staff hiring, training and motivation, cost containment, budget monitoring, contract negotiations, and strategic planning. He gained much of his startup experience as Manager of Operations for US Web Network Services in New York which had purchased former startup Gray Peak technologies for $100 million. Mr. Monti was a pioneering force at Gray Peak Technologies, Inc. , where he was head of Operations Support for one year before US Web acquired GPT. The merger of US Web, Gray Peak and Whitman Hartt resulted in the 10,000 person consulting behemoth MarchFirst, where he continued to manage Operations. While at MarchFirst he implemented a resource sharing pool program to optimize resource usage, resulting in an increase in productivity and profitability for the firm.

Mr. Monti served fourteen years in several operational roles with ABC/Capital Cities in New York , NY : he was the Manager of Operations for ABC's Electronic Graphics division and previously held other operational management positions.

Lesley Norman - Executive Producer

Lesley Norman has over 25 years of television production experience. She is currently Executive Director of Filmmakers Collaborative in Boston, an non-profit working nationally with independent filmmakers. Prior to this position she was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of JumpStart Productions in New York, and Executive In Charge of the award-winning series NOW on PBS. Her responsibilities included production management and program editorial review: pre-production consultation through final delivery of program; authoring and upholding editorial standards, budget development and review; all legal activities, including negotiations, E&O review, contract review; supervision of fundraising and development; applying for, monitoring, and reporting on grants; all human resources activities including supervising staff of 30, benefits administration, authoring employee handbook, conducting performance reviews. Before joining JumpStart, Ms. Norman was Vice President and Production Executive of David Grubin Productions.

Ms. Norman has multiple program Emmy awards for her work with NOW on PBS, as well as the Edward R. Murrow award from the Overseas Press Club for her senior producing role on the film “Child Brides, Stolen Lives.” She has worked on other award-winning productions such as “The Secret Life of the Brain,” “Napoleon,” and “Abraham and Mary Lincoln: A House Divided” for David Grubin Productions, and “Africans in America” and NOVA for WGBH. Ms. Norman holds a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree in government from Skidmore College. She has served as a grant reviewer for the NEH, has been a panelist at Silverdocs and a program participant at RealScreen, and has produced several panels for the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers.

John Lanza - Chief Accounting Officer

Mr. Lanza, CPA began practicing public accounting in 1990. Mr. Lanza joined the firm Kostin, Ruffkess & Company in 1998 as a manager and became a member of the Firm in 2006. With over 18 years of practical experience, Mr. Lanza provides accounting, auditing, tax planning and advisory services for small to middle market businesses and is a co-leader of the firm’s Digital Media Group. The firm’s Digital Media Group has extensive experience with production companies and is an expert on the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island motion picture tax credit programs. Along with other members of the Digital Media Group, Mr. Lanza has advised the Connecticut Film Division on the Connecticut credit audit instructions and related forms for the Connecticut tax credit. As a group co-leader, Mr. Lanza is responsible for overseeing the cost certification audits for the credit and serves as a consultant to production companies. Mr. Lanza is a graduate of the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Mr. Lanza is the President of the Board of Directors of Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, Inc and serves as a trustee for the Comstock Hudson Education Trust. Mr. Lanza is a lecturer and instructor for the Institute for International Film Financing; Media Communication Association International; the Southeastern Connecticut Film Commission; and the Connecticut Bar Association’s Entertainment Council.

Scott Salik - Event Producer and Director

Mr. Salik is an accomplished media professional with 25 years expertise in all facets of content creation, development, production and digital distribution. Numerous credits ranging from broadcast to broadband content, from large scale global and multi-venue events to niche cable television programming. As an event producer Scott has produced multi-venue, multi-event meetings reinvigorating a multi-level marketing network sales force. He also created content for live presenters and award presentations, consistently reinforcing company messaging and direction. He managed domestic and international reward and incentive trips and other targeted corporate events, motivating key players to drive their teams to increase sales. Mr. Salik has produced 5 multi-venue concerts featuring from 1 to 30 live acts. He has been awarded with 13 Telly Awards and was nominated for an Emmy.

Eric Thielen - VP Corporate Card Sales

Eric brings over 15 years of sales and marketing expertise in credit card services, software sales, and executive management. Over the last 3 years Eric worked as VP of Sales for, which was an early start-up company with a patented profit enhancing software that helped restaurants to grow their bottom lines. Eric developed the branding and was a key player in their early fund raising efforts. Before joining, Eric was in Executive Sales for iDine, one of the world’s largest providers of credit card incentives and rewards designed for the restaurant industry. iDine operates the dining loyalty programs for the 9 Major Airlines, Upromise, and thousands of Corporations seeking to save on their employees dining expenses. Eric held senior and management positions with Micros Systems, where he was responsible for driving sales and business development efforts in their restaurant centric hardware, software and guest loyalty programs. Earlier in his career Eric learned how to manage a start-up company when he and a colleague opened up a Branch Office in Boston for SoftChoice Corporation, a leading provider of volume software licensing and hardware services for the commercial marketplace. As Branch Manager, Eric was responsible for the hiring, training and development of over 10 Sales Reps while also managing all day to day operations for this successful value added reseller. Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Marketing, from the University of New Hampshire, where he was a basketball scholarship athlete and team captain in the 1991 season.

Ralph Schmidt - Director of Carbon Intiatives

Ralph Schmidt has over 25 years of experience in international development and global environmental issues. His work has involved combating poverty, gender equity, biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration and climate change, and international trade. He has studied and worked on both tropical ecology and natural resource economics and finance. He has worked in more than 60 countries on projects involving governments, non-profit groups, academic institutions, and the private sector. From 1990 to 2001 he was Director of Forest Programs at the United Nations Development Program in New York. Prior to that he was Forest Management Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome and also Chief of the Forest Service in Puerto Rico. From 2001 to 2007 he was CEO of The Candlewood Timber Group, a new company started and chaired by Former Yale Forestry and Environmental Studies School Dean John Gordon, based in New York and owning 250,000 acres of natural hardwood forest and processing plants in northwest Argentina. The company received full Forest Stewardship Council certification in 2003, and received the New York based Rainforest Alliance Corporate Leadership Award in 2006. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer stationed in rural Colombia for two years in 1970-71. He received BA and Master of Forest Science degrees from Yale University. He is fluent in Spanish and speaks French, Italian and Portuguese.

Steve Smith - Credit Card Consultant

Steve Smith is a seasoned bankcard executive with international experience and an industry leader in the development and implementation of new business initiatives. As principal of S. J. Smith & Associates, Steve has led a variety of projects in the areas of credit and debit card marketing, segmentation, new customer acquisition and retention, financial management, and database marketing. In addition, Steve regularly conducts Business Process Reviews designed to assess /benchmark and enhance the full range of card-related functions including marketing, risk management and scoring, credit operations, financial management and MIS and organization. He is author and host of training videos and his most recent publication is titled, “Marketing Co-branded and Affinity Cards in the US.” Steve has directed the American Banker’s Association Bankcard School and taught segmentation and credit and debit card profitability at the Visa Europe Business School at Cambridge University. Steve earned both an Echo and a Clio award for his work in direct marketing. Steve founded S. J. Smith & Associates in 1992 following a career at Citibank where he introduced cobranding with the American Airlines AAdvantage Card and held a variety of management positions.

Masood Khatri - CTO

Mr. Khatri has over 15 years of experience in the field of information technology. He has managed and implemented large-scale technology initiatives for fortune 50 clients. Currently, Masood runs a technology practice as a Partner at ebusinessware, where he is responsible for providing Technology and IT cost reductions strategies to his clients. He is also responsible for implementation and management of the strategies that are proposed. Having a strong business and technology background he brings a perfect blend of technology and people management capabilities. Masood has successfully implemented various large scale enterprise-wide technology projects on schedule and within budget.

He continues to research on new upcoming technologies. His current interests include SOA, Web 2.0, Social Networking/Media integration, Mobile Platform Development (iPhone, Andriod, etc).

Prior to joining eBusinessware, Masood worked as a Sr. Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he managed, developed and implemented credit swap automation systems. Prior to this, he was a consultant at Guardian Life where he created an Intranet based application for supporting the internal technology support staff. Before coming to the United States in 1998 Masood use to manage and implement various projects for Citibank and other financial firms in India on different platforms that included client-server and web-based applications.

Masood received a Bachelors Degree with Business/Accounting Major and an Associate Master’s Degree in Software Engineering. Masood also holds a certification for Structured System Analysis and Design from Pace University, NY.

Susan Smith Ellis - Board Member

Susan Smith Ellis is the Chief Executive Officer of (RED), a global marketing company whose partnerships help combat the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Since joining (RED), Ms. Smith Ellis has expanded the company's reach and widened its web of partnerships. In addition, she has launched a number of new initiatives, including (RED)WIRE and (RED)NIGHTS - both of which focus on collaborations with renowned musical artists. In addition to that, Ms. Smith Ellis helped produce the largest grossing contemporary art auction in recent history, which raised more than $42 million for (RED). As a result of all these efforts, (RED), in roughly three years, has contributed more than $156 million to the Global Fund. This amount exceeds the contributions made to the Global Fund by all but a few national governments. Aside from her management duties, Ms. Smith Ellis continues to be a tireless spokesperson for (RED). Her efforts have gained her national recognition from media outlets and academic institutions. She was named #25 of the MOST CREATIVE PEOPLE IN BUSINESS 2010 by Fast Company Magazine. Ms. Smith Ellis served as Executive Producer along with Spike Jonze on the documentary The Lazarus Effect, recently aired on HBO. Prior to joining (RED), Ms. Smith Ellis served as an Officer and Executive Vice President of the Omnicom Group of Companies (, the world’s largest advertising and marketing services corporation. She has extensive marketing and management experience and has lived and worked in London, Paris, Sydney and Hong Kong. She serves on the board of Friends of The Global Fight Against Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
